Zed, a dual-subtitle player
Zed turns YouTube into an English classroom, with English and Burmese subtitles side by side and a vocabulary panel one tap away.

The challenge
Learners lose their place when subtitles and video drift apart. Perfect sync between sentences and the timeline is the core value, so every mode had to protect it.
What I designed
- Immersive mode with Reading View and Cinema View
- Practice mode: one sentence at a time, pause at the end
- Vocabulary side panel that slides over the video
- Space to play, next and previous jump by sentence
- Translation and saved vocabulary
How I worked
Design that respects the architecture. The video never remounts between modes, so switching views feels instant, and every panel mounts in Shadow DOM so it never fights YouTube's own styles.
